My Favourite (and Least Favourite) Gyms in Enfield
Choosing the right gym boils down to what you are looking for in a gym and how long you want to sign up for.
Here's a rundown of my favourite and least favourite gyms in Enfield.
Best Gyms in Enfield (favourites)
Muscle Limit Gym
- Type: Muscle Limit Gym is a family-run establishment known for its hardcore training environment, making it ideal for those who are serious about their fitness and strength training. Spread across two floors, it includes a boxing ring and boxing bags, available for hire with trainers. Muscle Limit is also a 24-hour gym except for weekends and holidays.
- Features: Two floors, boxing ring, boxing bags, personal training available
- Prices:
- £40 per month
- £5 per session
- Discounts for longer memberships
I am biased here as this is the gym I frequent and the one I always seem to come back to even when I have tried out others.

- Features: Separate free weights area, cardio area with treadmills and step machines
- Prices:
- £50-55 per month
- £7.50 per session
Least Favourite Gyms
PureGym
- Type: PureGym is a budget-friendly option with extensive facilities spread across three floors. However, it tends to be overcrowded, a little too overcrowded for me, even during early hours, which can hinder your workout experience.
- Features: 24-hour access, extensive equipment, three floors
- Cons: Often overcrowded, even during early hours
- Prices:
- The basic package (off-peak) starts from £16 per month
- 24/7 Access starts from £21 per month
That being said this gym could be a good fit for you if you find a time to go that isn't busy or you don’t mind how busy it is. PureGym also seems to attract a younger crowd.
David Lloyd Clubs
- Type: David Lloyd Clubs offer a resort-like experience with numerous activities, swimming pools, and spa areas. While these gyms provide an excellent array of amenities, they come at a high cost, making them less suitable for those seeking quick, no-frills workouts.
- Features: Swimming pools, spa areas, extensive activities
- Cons: Expensive, not ideal for quick workouts
- Prices:
- £95 per month (basic package)
- High cost for a one-day pass
The newly renovated David Lloyds Gym in Finchley however is probably worth the coin as the recent refurb there has made it into a luxury resort with an amazing outdoor and indoor area fully equipped with different types of sauna and steam rooms, swimming pools, cold plunge, jacuzzies (yes plural) and quiet meditation rooms.
